Pafos Chef
Allergen & Dietary Policy
At Pafos Chef, we take food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements seriously. We do our best to provide clear allergen information and to guide customers honestly before they place an order.
Our kitchen is not a certified allergen-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, dairy-free, nut-free or coeliac-safe production environment.
We prepare and handle different foods in the same kitchen, including products that may contain gluten, milk, eggs, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, soy, sesame, nuts, peanuts, celery, mustard, lupin and sulphites. Although we can prepare meals without specific ingredients, we cannot guarantee that any meal is completely free from traces or cross-contact.
“Prepared without” vs “free from”
When we say a dish is prepared without a certain ingredient, it means the ingredient is not intentionally used in that recipe. It does not mean the dish is certified free from that allergen. For example:
- A dish prepared without gluten is not guaranteed gluten-free or coeliac-safe.
- A dish prepared without dairy is not guaranteed milk-free if cross-contact is a concern.
- A lactose-free product may still contain milk proteins and may not suit a milk allergy.
- A nut-free recipe is not guaranteed free from nut traces.
Cross-contact risk
Cross-contact may happen through:
- Shared kitchen equipment
- Shared ovens, fridges, preparation surfaces and utensils
- Supplier products and ingredient handling
- Packaging and storage areas
- Airborne flour or other particles in the kitchen
- Human handling during normal kitchen production
We follow professional hygiene and food-safety procedures, but we are not operating a sterilised allergen-free facility.
Severe allergies or coeliac disease
If you have a severe allergy, anaphylaxis risk, coeliac disease, or a medically serious dietary condition, please contact us before ordering. We will explain honestly what we can and cannot do — in some cases, we may advise that our kitchen is not suitable for your needs.
Your safety is more important than accepting an order.
Customer responsibility
The final responsibility for choosing whether a meal is suitable remains with the customer. Customers are responsible for:
- Informing us clearly about all allergies, intolerances and dietary restrictions before ordering
- Telling us whether the condition is a severe allergy, coeliac disease, intolerance, preference or lifestyle choice
- Reading the allergen information provided
- Asking questions before placing an order if anything is unclear
- Not ordering dishes that may be unsafe for their personal condition
- Informing us again when placing future orders, even if they have ordered before
By placing an order, the customer confirms that they have read and understood this allergen policy and accept the possible risk of cross-contact.
Ingredient and supplier changes
Recipes, ingredients and supplier products may change from time to time. Some ingredients may also carry “may contain” warnings from suppliers. We do our best to keep our allergen information up to date, but customers with allergies or intolerances should always ask for confirmation before ordering.

Special menu requests
We may be able to create special menus for customers with dietary preferences or intolerances. These requests are handled individually and require a separate quotation and longer pre-order time. Special menu preparation does not remove the risk of cross-contact unless specifically confirmed in writing — and even then, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Emergency note
If you have a serious allergic reaction after eating, seek immediate medical assistance.
